About This Tour
Traverse the state of Missouri from historic Clinton to St. Charles along the 235-mile-long Katy Trail. This is a self-guided tour. You may pick any date in our itinerary date range to start your tour.
The Katy Trail meanders alongside the Missouri River in the shadows of towering limestone bluffs. The trail also passes though some of the world’s richest and most fertile farmland, legendary and upcoming wineries, quaint and historic towns loaded with history, antiques, and local flavors.
The Katy Trail is, at this moment, America’s longest completed rails-to-trails project at 225 miles. The Katy is also the longest public, non-motorized portion of the historic Lewis and Clark Trail. The Katy is part of the Missouri State Park system and is also the longest State Park in the Nation.
Relatively flat terrain and access to local towns and activities make the Trail the ideal location to cycle. The surface is a finely crushed limestone, so we recommend a hybrid, mountain, or gravel style bicycle. If using a road bike, use the widest tire your bike will accommodate.
This is a moderate, yet relaxing, ride through lush farmlands and small towns of rural Missouri. Cycle of Life Adventures offers the trip for those who are more comfortable on bike paths and rail trails.
This tour takes on flat trails with mileage ranging from 28 to 51 miles per day, giving you the opportunity to explore quiet trails of central Missouri at your pace.
This tour is a destination tour, starting in Clinton and ending in St Charles. You will experience the Midwest at its finest.
