About This Tour
There is a crazy, fun atmosphere to “The Big Easy” every Spring. But year round the cities alive with excitement and small crowds. New Orleans buzzes in the Fall with a variety of activities and excitement ranging from Jazz and Zydeco Festivals, Cajun Food Fests, wonderful warm weather and a unique cycling tour offered only by Cycle of Life Adventures.
Before getting overwhelmed with the holiday season, take time to relax on this Big Easy tour. This adventure takes on flat roads and trails with mileage ranging from 22 to 79 miles per day. This tour starts and completes in the exciting and historic French Quarter district, the oldest neighborhood of New Orleans.
On your first day of cycling, you will ride routes of the Mardi Gras Parade, respectfully tour old cemeteries, explore neighborhoods of 300-year-old lavish mansions and pedal the Live Oak draped streets of the Garden Districts. Each day of the tour brings new and interesting areas of exploration. Historic plantations will be part of our daily and nightly itinerary for lodging. The well-designed Mississippi River Trail and the levee trails in and around the city will be part of our route. Rides into the small and historic towns of Point A La Hache, White Castle, Darrow and Napoleonville, where we take in nature and history, are flat rural and urban roads.
Your first trip to New Orleans should always include an air boat adventure of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Our airboat tour will explore Louisiana’s back country along its meandering bayous, abundant with wildlife and exotic plant life. Trained navigators escort you through the murky waters of Louisiana swamps, where you will come face to face with the beauty and beasts of nature.
Come to New Orleans early for this tour and take advantage of everything New Orleans has to offer.
