Pack your bike and camera, tempt your taste buds. Cycle quiet rural roads and get warmed up for your cycling season with this early summer ride. Before the crowds arrive to the Finger Lakes region, enjoy mild temperatures, great flats and as many climbs as you would like in the Eastern Lakes region. We make Ithaca our home base for this 4-day camp. Enjoy vineyards, stunning natural beauty and charming small towns around Seneca, Cayuga, Owasco, and Skaneateles Lakes.
New York’s Finger Lakes region takes its name from the 11 pristine, freshwater lakes placed like a handprint between Lake Ontario and the Pennsylvania Border. The region encompasses 9,000 square miles. Glaciers carved out the Finger Lakes themselves as well as some of the beautiful surrounding landscape. Gorges and waterfalls can be found throughout the Finger Lakes region.
The Finger Lakes is one of the best-known regions in the world for almost 100 top-quality wines. Because of the great depths of the lakes, they provide a lake effect to the lush vineyards that flank the shores. While cycling along the ridgelines we’ll enjoy the patchwork of farms, vineyards, and lake-front communities. The area offers much more than you can pack into four days of cycling. Join us on June 3 to start the adventure early for six additional days of riding of the western lakes of the region.
